Places to visit
Our caravan and campsite is so well located being a few minutes from the Tamworth M42, easily accessed from the Birmingham NEC, Alrewas A38 and the National Memorial Arberoretum. There are plenty of places to visit and fun days out to suit a whole range of caravanners and campers and for all the family.

Drayton Manor Theme Park - Everyone’s favourite theme park, which is within very easy reach of our caravan site packed with a host of great rides and attractions set in 280 acres of lakes and parkland. Drayton Manor features some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around! Apocalypse is the world’s first stand up tower drop. Shockwave is Europe’s only stand up rollercoaster. Stormforce 10 is ‘the best water ride in the country’ (Daily Express). Maelstrom is the only gyro swing to make you face outwards! Pandemonium turns your world upside down! www.draytonmanor.co.uk
The National Forest is one of the country's boldest environmental projects, transforming 200 square miles in the centre of England. Conkers – adventures in the forest. Explore over 120 acres including the 13 piece assault course, adventure play area, barefoot walk and train linking the Discovery and Waterside centres. Indoors you can discover the enchanted forest adventure play zone with over 100 interactive exhibits, cafes and gift shop. www.visitconkers.com
Kingsbury Water Park – here there is a full fun packed programme of events throughout the year covering all the school holidays from building dens to scarecrow making. There is something for all ages with 2 adventure play areas with plenty of space to run around and let off steam. Hicks Lodge National Forest Centre – is ideal for an active family day out in beautiful natural surroundings, the wood farm trail is an easy over off road route that provides a great introduction to mountain biking with a range of habitats to take in along the way. The route is great for tearaway toddlers who are getting their first taste of cycling, but older children may prefer the Shellbrook trial, berns, jumps and bumps to navigate. Tamworth Castle – explore Tudor and Stuart chambers, grand Victorian reception rooms and the a magnificent late medieval great hall. The enclosed outdoor play park boasts a huge castle and pirate ship ideal for children aged up 14 years who enjoy nothing better than climbing and playing outdoors. Altogether Tamworth castle promises a brilliant day out for all the family with brilliant displays and costumes. www.tamworthcastle.co.uk
The National Memorial Arboretum - Planting began in 1997 and covers 150 acres in total. There is something for everyone, it is a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the trees and wildlife, but also it is a beautiful and peaceful place to remember loved ones. There are over 320 memorials dedicated to those who have fallen in service protecting our country. It also recognised by non- military services such as police, fire and rescue. www.thenma.org.uk
National Exhibition Centre – If you’re attending a concert or fair at this venue our campsite is within easy reach giving easy access along the M42 to Junction 6 where the NEC is situated. www.thenec.co.uk
Twycross Zoo – meet around 650 animals from almost 150 species including some of the most endangered on our planet. They are renowned as a specialist primate zoo and have a wide array of monkeys and apes, including the only group of bonobos. Set in more than 80 acres immerse yourself in the zoo’s fascinating exhibits. Meet the family of endangered snow leopards, and elephants in their Asian themed walkway. www.twycrosszoo.org
Snowdome – this has the UK’s only dedicated children’s snow play area, an ice skating rink, and the UK’s only ice track, plus the real snow slopes offer a huge range of fun activities for adults and children including tobogganing, adrenaline and standard tubing, and more. Bosworth Water Trust – is a family orientated leisure and water park in 50 acres of glorious Warwickshire countryside. 20 acres of lakes are available for wind surfing, sailing and canoeing. You can also hire pedaloes and rowing boats. www.bosworthwatertrust.co.uk
Battlefield Line railway at Shackerstone – The 3 stations on the Battlefield Line railway are Shenton, (an award winner) Market Bosworth and Shackerstone, which is where you will find the loco shed and the main rolling stock and is visited by Thomas and Friends several times in the year. Calke Abbey – A tour of Calke Abbey's treasures is like taking a step back in history. The stately home remains in a mid 19th century time warp, complete with its own Victorian museum of interesting treasures and artifacts. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/calke-abbey
